Being appropriate and PC at all times at work is something that is written in policy, but it sometimes the hardest thing to adhere to. I am glad that in the field of education there are more policies in place to prevent these types of conversations from taking place.
I am glad that this module went over the differences between what is an accommodation and what is not considered one. I wondered when I was taking classes myself if some students got preferred or favored treatment for having a disability and it is good to see that its to help them be on the same page as everyone else.
After reading this module it is interesting to see just how many things go into play when it comes to accommodating students with disabilities. It's not just in the classroom that they are having issues, it is at home trying to study and trying to take the examinations. It was a real mind opener!
Having worked in the past with special needs individuals in a school setting, it is nice to see all the efforts that the government has put in place to help them grow and develop how they see fit, not how society see's fit. We still have a lot of growth to do ourselves as far as acceptance and equality, but this was a refreshing read.
After reading this module it is good to see that the school holds all of its employees and faculty to the ethical standards that they want their students to adhere to as well.
When colleges are creating these handbooks and handouts for its students, I had not idea that they had regulations and guidelines to follow to ensure that its students are in the know on all policies and procedures. I received multiple handbooks and pamphlets from my university regarding all these issues and topics, and I am glad that they were in there. It answered a lot of my questions and saved me and the school a lot of time.
I am glad to see that institutions are prohibited and limited in their communication to potential graduates about employment guarantees. Being a college graduate, you feel that since you paid all this money for a degree to the school that they should help you find a career/job to get your life going. However, since the school is not allowed to guarantee job placement they have found ways to assist students in obtaining a position in the field they are interested in. Many colleges and institutions have job fairs, or employment assistance facilities to help guide students in the right direction.

I have received many spam emails and calls in the past and have never heard of this law. I am shocked at how much money goes into the repercussions of these companies advertisements. With this knowledge now acquired it makes my position all the more important to keep in mind the status of those I am communicating with via phone and email!
