There are different formats and tools that can help make accessibility easier for everyone. The same basic tools wont work for all students and disabilities. It is important to consider the tools you use and how they will help address any miscommunications.
It's important to take into consideration all the different possible impairments and disabilities within the classroom setting and ensure that there are various formats/ways to obtain the course information for all students.
The big percentage of students with disabilities is definitely eye opening. And to think that many of them having varying disabilities that all need to be addressed in different manners. This gives more importance to clarification and ensuring that all students are on the same page.
Blogs allow students to share their views on certain topics in a constructive way. This allows for constructive feedback from their peers and other people which often leads to growth when handled efficiently.
Microblogging can help students learn to quickly and coherently express thoughts and ideas. This is an important skill in the medical field in particular cause you often have little time to explain and have to be quick and concise
When it comes down to media sharing, it's something that must be assessed open minddedly. Each use of media should be assessed for various things like audience, relevance, quality, etc.
As was stated, social media is an untapped tool that could be both beneficial and distracting. If utilized in an informative way, it can allow people to exchange information and iddeas in a productive way that can help us come to a better understanding with one another as well as other topics.
I find assessments helpful as they let us know how the student is doing, what they understand and what they need help in. That way you may help the student individually and the class as a whole to be successful in their course work.
Remember that each student learns differently, with that being said as an instructor we need to assess and plan on incorporating the different teaching methods to our lessons/courses so that the students understands what you are presenting and can complete the class/course successfully.
