Academic Assistance: Most institutions provide some kind of assistance to help students be successful. Some institutions have ways for faculty and staff to identify students who need help. At other institutions students must ask for it. Types of academic assistance can include tutoring, mentoring, study buddies where students pair up and study together, study halls, or video-taped classes to watch. When you provide this information to prospective students it can help to ease the fears of going back to school.

The institution catalog and enrollment agreement are among the documents that have been approved by the Florida Commission for Independent Education and they must follow the Fair Consumer Practices Statutes and Rules. Therefore the admissions requirements should be complete, consistent, and appropriate for the programs you offer.

The goals are for you to know everything currently possible about the Florida Statutes and Rules that affect all admissions staff, and for you to know as much as possible about your institution and your job as you perform your key role - to enroll qualified students who will benefit from your programs. Training specific to your institution is additional training offered by your supervisors.
