FERPA is a sensitive institutional/Federal regulation that must be upheld. Its purpose is to protect the right of students with regard to specific information. Any breach in releasing information to those who have not been authorized by the student can place the school and its representative in legal trouble considering the vulnerability it may pose on the student.

Create Transparency

One of the best ways to protect yourself from false accusations of deceit and misrepresentation of information is to ensure that you provide informationt that is provided by the school as a burden of proof. It may be temporarily useful to exaggerate about misleading information for the moment, but over the long run, such information can lead to devastating outcomes for both the college and the representative alike.

Marketing and Disclosures

It is critical that organizations, regardless the type of industry, provide factual information regarding sensitive information in "pursuading" the student/customer. Such a subjective response regarding information without merit can be a cause of legal claims of providing falsified information which can tarnish the overall brand/company/school image.

Doing the Right Thing

Considering the privilege of being offered the opportunity to offer Title IV funding to potential students, it is absolutely imperative that all staff members of the college uphold the requirements of such an accreditation. Failure to do so can be devastating not only for the organization's ambitions but also devastating in upholding the college's mission statement in training students for potential career opportunities in healthcare.

Course Information

The information provided gives a great deal of insight on various policies, proceedures, and regulatory limitations. The information serves as a reference to the"do's and don'ts" of federal funding and education. The most challenging aspect of the tutorials I encountered was the blown computer speakers which made the interactivity less entertaining and difficult to understand. Despite the minor technical issue, the tutorial provided a great deal of information regarding federal funding.
