Activity
I will go through each class I am teaching and create some active learning based assignments. I will use the group projects.
I have a different vierw on late work for my online classes . We have 5 week modules for out classes and I usually let students go back to week one and resubmit any assisgnment that they did not receive full credit for. they can add to discussions and correct assignments but cannot retake quizzes. I look at it as they learn from their mistakes and when they have to go back and correct an answer it helps with comprehension of the work. Does anyone else do this?

All I do is encourage them to submit work as stay active so they are not dropped form… >>>

Is there a better way to handle retention without having… >>>

If I have a student who is failing or not participating we are encouraged to contact them often. I usually either call or email every other day to see if I can get student to participate. We have accrediting guidelines that a student must submit work at least every week, or sooner if possible. We, as instructors, are calling students as well as our student… >>>

I think it is great to use active learning but I have problems even getting students to participate at all. I spend time calling them to offer assistance and to keep them active so they are not dropped form the program. Any suggestions to help
