Activity

I'm fairly new to this hiring position and I find that these points that I'm learning are not items I would have thought of. Good information for someone that is new. 

 

Develp a good team, work environment, create an effective mission statement that all can relate to. 

Teachers that stay current in their field of expertise will develop a culture of learning in their classrooms with their students. 

Learn how to get staff engaged in the process and procedures of the school that can create culture. 

Curb negative discussions about students and staff if heard from any students or staff. 

We need to build our team to work with students. So we need to involve counselors, support staff, and parapros more in our everyday activiities. 

We need to get students more involved with being self directed when they have some down time. The pacing when having two different levels of students and one teacher can become a juggling act. Sometimes the more advanced students need to revisit some old tasks and refresh or maybe get started on new fundamentals. 

 

Communications have structure and should not be handled lightly. Important topics need to be communicated in the proper way to be valid and taken seriously. 

Emergency signs should be posted and emergency procedures should be discussed regularly. 

As an administrator, I need to pay close attention to the equipment usage by the individual and collective class. Also keep up with the insturctor knowledge and training of safety. Make sure I do more walk through's as well throughout the day.
