Something that I learned during this module is the idea to have a specific area to post questions that opens up responses by fellow classmates. This does two very important things; first is that when a student is able to help another student, it will reinforce learning and demonstrate that they student has learned a specific objective. Secondly, it will take the load off the instructor having to respond to so many individual emails.

I have learned the difference between Asynchronous and Synchronous discussions. I had never thought about putting these two types of discussions in these two categories. I think it is extremely important to be able to reach all learners and identifying different methods of discussions. This is going to help me set up discussion groups in the future.

I think it is very important that the instructor make their presence known during the course. The instructor should offer more than posting assignments and releaseing quizzes and test. When a student knows that you are an individual there to help them, they become more involved in the class and are more likely to succeed at the content.

It is very important for students to understand the computer/technology requirements for the course. Teaching CAD/drafting can be very difficult if the student does not have access to the appropriate software in order to complete assignments. If the student lacks the technology required for the course at the beginning, the student will likely fall behind the pace of the class and miss assignment due dates.
