Please allow me this opportunity to welcome everyone to The Lounge! As someone who has had the honor of being in career education and corporate training for thirty years (gee, it makes me feel much older!), I can honestly say that I am the happiest professionally when having the opportunity to interact with fellow career educators - whether it be a training event, webinar, or medium such as this where we can collaboratively share our thoughts.

Roman, I want to thank you for your detailed observations and hope that other course participants will read your post. In many ways the compliance process, indeed, has become tedious and cumbersome. The sad irony is that this can take focus away from the true missions of our institutions and, ultimately, the success of our students and graduates. There must be a balance between the necessity of regulation and the importance of student outcomes. Your'e right, the organization's mission and core values should align with the employee's and vice versa.As employees we are powerful representations of our institutions and our disciplines - even education in general. Barbara, Thanks, yes, they are all integral parts of extremely important disclosures, and as you reference, can cause dire consequences if the information is not fully and accurately disclosed. Jay Hollowell
Barbara, You're right - the catalog is a composite, a factual summary, of everything a school offers. It is crucial, as the primary visual representation of factual information, that it is always accurate, complete and current. Jay Hollowell
