Should negotiating salary be considered for entry level jobs? There are so many applicants and possibly applicants with experience that would take anything based on the job market. I wasnâ€™t sure on how aggressive one should be when negotiating.

Career Portfolios

How important is it to create and have a career portfolio? In my past jobs I worked in human resources and we never looked at career portfolios. Sure we glimpsed at them, but all we cared about was the cover letter, resume, and if it was a sales position their brag book. Of course have more is better.

Grads that I have never met

I have been finding it extremely difficult to get in touch with some unplaced grads via phone, email, and FB. Has anyone found other strategies to get in touch with older grads? Thanks

Background Checks

I believe that background checks are run on all students but do you know if there is a list that shows what is acceptable to get enrolled?

Discrimination

I am curious on how we can accept students who are provided government housing and government assistance to attend school. I understand that they want to change their lifestyle, but once they graduate I have trouble placing students because they donâ€™t want to give up the assistance. They are making more money on government assistance than jobs that they are qualified for.

Background Checks

Is there a Delta list of what is acceptable and not acceptable on a studentâ€™s background check? For instance like some employers have a list of what they consider a barrier crime which would make the employee ineligible to be hired.
