Jason, that's a very interesting challenge and I'm glad you shared it. Perhaps it's finding something in which you share interest. Keep us posted as to how you handle this situation in the future. Dr. Jean Norris
Marcus, thanks for sharing here. Yes, people skills and attitude allow for you to build rapport with others which can help in the product knowledge portion of your presentation. Dr. Jean Norris
Jamie, thanks for sharing your experience here. What are some of the people skills you use when on the phone with your students? Dr. Jean Norris
Hannah, interesting point. Product knowledge is a critical piece in the skill set. I wonder, which of these four elements is it easiest to teach? Dr. Jean Norris
Ah! What a great point. Your attitude is going to spread not only in your skills, but it can also spread to others too. Having a positive attitude can be contagious. Dr. Jean Norris
John, this is a great plan. You've spent time building a relationship with the student to start school and so continuing that relationship will not only pay off for you, but for the student as well. They will know that you are there to support them throughout their academic career. Dr. Jean Norris
Scott, you hit the nail on the head. The attributes of a school are great. But the benefits make it meaningful to the student sitting in front of you (or on the phone). We want to customize as much of the process as possible in order to meet the student where they are. Dr. Jean Norris
Jeff, that's certainly true. Sometimes people need time to process questions or to search around for answers. Great point. Dr. Jean Norris
Kristina, thanks for sharing your experience. It sounds like you have an effective plan that is working well with you. Keep it up. Dr. Jean Norris
Kelly, this is great awareness. Thanks for sharing! Enthusiasm is extremely important and it sounds like you have a passion for what you do - awesome! But, it does sound like you have a plan in order to engage the student more and get them as excited about the school too. Dr. Jean Norris
