Danielle,I agree. The interesting thing about a superlative is that it may be based in truth. A 95% graduation for instance is a "great" graduation rate, a superlative. The problem is it does not give the student a fact to make their judgement on. A disclosure form that displays a 95% graduation rate during a specific period of time is a better service to our potential student and meets the state and federal requirements. James Faulkner

Pam,I agree. A student is looking for reliable information to answer the questions they know to ask and are glad to get information on questions they should have asked. I think it is important to have all the information to base a sound decision on my education and my future. James Faulkner

Susan, we cover the use of superlatives such as "We are the Best" in Permissible Language. Superlatives are also covered in the federal regulations. Our policy is that we simply do not use them. James Faulkner

What is right is to ensure we stay within our disclosures provide to each student, our Permissible Language Document that discusses, among other things, use of exagerations and superlatives that is primarily used by Admissions and Financial Aid, and our catalog and addendum. Sean, compliance to me is both an action and a result. Compliance involves understanding and meting a standard of behavior. I do not see how any professional can curtail a standard in their industry (be non-compliant) and still expect others to treat them as a professional. James Faulkner
