Motivating Students I truly enjoyed this presentation.  I really believed that I am a very good instructor in the class room.  But now I realize that there are lots of areas that I never even thought of.  Student interaction and response in the class room is good example of room for improvement for myself.  Also, I had no idea of the validity and purpose of the type of question that I have been using. Now I do.

I had no idea about the value of the various types of test. I always used what was available and easy access. After this presentation I am now knowledgable of the purpose and studemt assessment of the types of test and when to use them. Thank you for this insight

Student's learning is an assessment of the instructor's effectiveness of the delivery on the content of the instructional materials. This gives the instructor some idea of his effectiveness.
Questions and answers sessions are an integral part of the lesson delivery. I have found that one way to make sure that students participate is that they should ask questions of their own and ask other students to answer. This way class participation is encouraged. Also, students will participate more if they know that there is a question and answer session during the class presentation. Questions and answer session are an encouragement for my students especially if they are encouraged positively with their answers.

I have been using these different styles in my teaching career not realising what I have been doing. But it is good to know that there is a structured approach to student learning

The fact that the students came to the classes is a very big step in the learning process. It is then up to us as instructors to keep their interest and motivational level peeked. I have found that students have a trust factor and they tend to use the trust factor as a means of escaping the class responsibilites, but when they are motivated by the instructor's presentation and the class materials their interest can me maintained. I have used the short stories and connect the stories to real life experience and it works like a charm in motivational maintenance.

Retention is the key to the instructor's success. Keeping the students interest in the class keeps the students in the class. Thank you for your insight into the subject.
