Bruce -

I'm an HVAC/R instructor in Northeastern PA., and I was wondering what class(es) are you facilitating?

As the courses I teach are geared to the "Hands-on" crowd, I'd also like to get some insight from you on your demographics, facilities, class sizes, etc., and how you've been putting it all together for your situation.

You can get back to me a little easier at:  jurbanhvac@toast.net

Catch me when you've got a minute or two to spare.  Thanks

This module gave me some food-for-thought concerning "Who might and might-not" have a learning disability.  As a prime example, I make reference to myself in making the following statement:  "I actually had no trouble whatsoever, in reading the scrambled sentence, given as an illustration, in the Dsylexia portion of the course".  To be fair, though, I find it interesting to play-around with words, sentence-structures, reading 'upside-down' and the like.  I find that it both challenges me, and also serves as me as a simple relaxation-therapy exercise.  The benefit of this quirk, though, is that I can begin to understand how… >>>

Compliance Regulations:  As I stated in my 'forum' posts, The information is both "Required & relevant".  That being said, it is imperative that the institution has protocols in place to direct both active and potential students to the departments that are the "Authorities" on such regulations.  This "policy", if that's how you want to view it, provides 2 protections.  The first is that proper procedures and complete information is dissemenated.  The second, is that instructors, individuals, and anyone not-directly-involved, are actually protected from the "Open mouth, insert foot syndrome".  Understand the question.  Know the directions to the authority.  Send the… >>>

Got some useful insight as to the workings of "Admissions", however, not being involved with admissions, and our policy which defers all inquiries back to admissions, it is highly unlikely that even some, if any, of the information I gained in this course will go past my brain.  Thanks.

Kimberly & Jaime,

When I was put in the position of "Do or Die", I hated the idea of the blogs and forums myself.  The jury is still out on that call.  What I do want to comment on is this:     By posting on the site you already "HAVE" gotten involved.  This was the whole idea of the forums & blogs.  You get to blow-off steam, make critical remarks, and generally "Let it all hang-out."  The good part of this exercise, is that others,  that may have "Wanted" to express opinions such as yours, didn't reach out and grab… >>>

I also thought that ED 105 was very helpful.  So much so, that I had a hard time completing the course.  I literally found myself re-evaluating my methods and approaches to almost everything.  The only problem was, that I was in the middle of taking the course while I was mentally recalibrating.  Good thing I printed out every page from the course.  Now I can begin the re-organization process.  I think this course will be very beneficial for both my students and myself.

This course was definitely a "Helping-hand" towards my instructional abilities, as it gave me some valuable insights into some of the things that make "Me" tick.  I was able to give myself a good "Once-over" and identify some areas that are in need of modification.  At the same time it afforded me some opportunities to expand my thought processes into areas that I hadn't before considered.  Thanks.
