Ove the years ?I have learned to handle student situations a little different. For example bullying of students by another student. I incorporated a video on lateral and horizontal bullying with students.

I like to incorporate real life scenarios into the lecture. This helps the students to see that the nursing profession is a very serious profession. It hink the textbook is great but incorporating the real lie scenarios will assist the student in becoming successful.

I usually incorporate various methods of instruction as I am teaching. On the first day of class I have the students complete a learning style survey. This helps me to modify my teaching methods.

I have learned to set the expectations on the first day and to set the bar high. I feel that it is easier to ease up than it is to get them under control later. If the students know what is expected than they will most likely be successful.

I have yet to see any 2 classes be alike. I have learned that I have to modify each learning session according to the type of students that I have. This helps the students to be successful in the classroom. Also Identifying learning styles can help me plan the course.

Learning Styles

As an instructor, it is important to rememeber that all students learn differently. It is important to learn to conform and change accordingly. Every student learns differently.
