Asynchronous is better for larger groups but planning small group discussions can benefit some learners as long as time zones and availability of the learners.

I always want to get to know my learners but I need to share my credentials, training, and expertise with the learners.

As the instructor of an online class, I need to give clear expectations and communicate my message. I also need to provide students access to communicating with me should questions arise. Before using online learning, students need to be given a tutorial on how to use the system. As the educator, I need to be prompt with replies and notifying students when they are falling behind.
