If I'm in a class where a student has asked a question and I don't know off hand the correct answer, would it be helpful or unhelpful to tell the student (as well as the rest of the class) that exta credit points may be awarded to those students who search for the information on their own and provide the answer to me. Espically where we are looking at evidance-based medical research. From a teaching standpoint this gives an oppertunity to dive into how to retrieve information important to their profession.
