Since all students do not learn in the same way, it is important to adopt a teaching style that effectively addresses each learning style. Most of my class agreed that they are kinisthic learners, however, I, as the instructor must decide what materials will be used to facilitate learning. The majority of textbook materials are gearned towards visual learners. They have powerpoints. To help the hands on learner, I usually have an assignment to go along with the powerpoint so that students are not just sitting there in a daze.

I make it appoint to go over the syllabus in the beginning of the course. This helps set the tone for the course and lays out expectations. I feel this practice is very helpful to teacher and student. As a result, there are fewer problems along the way.

Good employees often wonder how to approach their manager about issues and situations that have an effect on their job. For example, I have a part time hourly job and since my boss was going to take a day off, she generously invited me to do the same, seeing I had a very hectic month. Problem was, she was full time, I was not. She could afford to take a day off because she would be getting paid regardless. Whereas, if I did not work, I would not get paid. So I kindly explained this to her in an email… >>>

In some workplaces people are so hung up on position power, that they do not lead by example. Leading by example, is the most effective form of leadership.

I like this saying, I use it alot with my children and students to indicate to the they need to take control of their future.  Right Now! Truly, time doesn't wait.

The Training was helpful and informative. Especially, the FERPA section regarding confidentiality.
