I think my main takeaway is creating clear expectations by providing examples of what's expected. Anytime you can eliminate frustration that will enhance the learning process. And from a teaching standpoint, the less complications I have to deal with, the more time I have for teaching and instructing.

Learning styles are a combination of cognitive, emotional, and motivational factors. By considering these factors and using a multimodal approach, educators can accommodate all learning styles.

I like the flip-chart game as it doesn't put anyone on the spot. I'll have to think of a way this can be incorporated into distant learning.

Speed of speech is much slower than the speed of thought-- which means if you don't actively engage students their mind will wander. Makes so much sense!

My takeaway from this module is the word "navigate." As an instructor, I have to know my CMS inside and out. Along with that, I need to decide how the information will be segmented and sequenced within the CMS to make it as clear as possible for every type of learner. It's my job as a remote teacher to not only navigate the system in a way that is conducive to learning but to navigate my students through the learning process, including any technical support they may need.
