I learned that it is important to create a system to keep student communications organized and accessible.  One should create file for all the different types of communication you might have with students. 

I learned that it is important to give feedback in a constructive and timely manner. Feedback responses should be worded so that the student is encouraged to participate.

I learned to best help your students, it is important to get to know them. It is important to be honest with them, and that students are more likely to respect you because of your achievements and credentials.

I learned how important it is to have technical support as well as educational support.  
on the technical end I would make sure I knew how things look and operate on the student side. So that I would be able to help them along.  I also would make sure the students and myself are trained on how to use the online system. On the educational end It is important that the material be well organized and presented in a manner that is easy to comprehend and study.
