Michael, I agree and you have focused on the central characteristics well - immediacy, self-direction, customization and flexibility. Good job! Dr. Ruth Reynard
James, Interesting points, James. I like the observation of the watches - I actually wear a watch that doesn't work so use my phone to check tie :) It seems the challenge of learning time management skills is a life-longhand ongoing pursuit... Dr. Ruth Reynard

Juan, Very true - technology is only a tool and it is the use and application that counts. Thank you for sharing your use of the Insight software...there are several of these programs that help instructors facilitate the collaborative participation of students in the class. Dr. Ruth Reynard
Juan, Indeed - connectivity is now continuous and seamless; without the boundaries and constraints that used to curtail teaching and learning. How do you think this benefits the learning process specifically? Dr. Ruth Reynard
Juan, Good points! There are many benefits to hybrid delivery in terms of technology use and communication. It also suits more learning types because it supports various inputs and outputs of content and application. Dr. Ruth Reynard

Melanie , You might be successful in obtaining the mobile board strips (e.g. Mimio strips) to use with any regular white board. These strips are not a robust as an actual board but do provide an interactive projection surface you can use. Dr. Ruth Reynard

Melanie , Very true, Melanie. The level of interaction and participation rises in any classroom, regardless of age :) Dr. Ruth Reynard
Aaron, Good points, Aaron, however, society as a whole uses new technology and is therefore affected by it. Therefore, even if I don't have access directly, I experience it at school, hospital, other homes, malls, stores etc. As such, we as instructors can maximize the exposure through courses and instructional design and help all students succeed. Dr. Ruth Reynard
Norman, Yes, good points - and the diverse modes of delivery and interaction increase learner engagement. Dr. Ruth Reynard
Stanley, Very true...new technology is now used throughout society and in all workplaces. This then becomes a vital part of learning for today's students if we are to prepare them adequately for success. Dr. Ruth Reynard
