About me

Sarah Beth (Dushoff) Benes grew up in Savannah, and graduated from Windsor Forest High School. She is adjunct faculty at Savannah Technical College. She has taught Computer Applications, Business, and Science in Savannah-Chatham County High Schools since 2007, currently at Early College.

Short intro: I have worked in many different business and computer areas.

After a number of years in Market Research, and various business and clerical areas, she has a continuing solid and wide ranging understanding of software, and business needs; and workplace skills. While in Germany Sarah Beth ran a group of freelance computer troubleshooters and consultants as "Benes Business Services," and still has a good feeling for the professional in the field. She enjoys working with computers, on all levels, and hopes to share that joy of discovery with others. She has also worked with clerical/medical, clerical/insurance, freelance typing and editing, and was instrumental in creating forms for Memorial Medical Center, and in their transition between patient and inventory databases.

She currently holds a Bachelors in Science Education from University of Georgia, Associates in Computer Support from Savannah Technical College, Masters in Information Technology from University of Phoenix, and certifications in Education, Computer Repair, Internet and Core Computing (Educator), Microsoft Office Specialist Microsoft Certified Trainer (several versions), Microsoft and Google Certified Educator.

Activity

I have had situations where I mute the student. They can still read the discussion, but not contribute. I usually let that last for a week before I reactivate them. And I always tell them why.

I'm going to update my bio, and organize it into sections. I am also going to update my initial assignment at both college and high school level to include some details on how they should do an introduction. I think that will make everything a lot better

I think I have a fairly robust online course delivery system. However, I need to incorporate glossaries and in my start up slide presentation, also have navigating the course, grading policies, etc. I think I will do that as a video, instead of a PowerPoint.
