This last section reiterrated the main issue i have noticed this sequence.  Most of my students are on the ball, getting everything done,

I need to be more sepcific in the class expectations and requirements from the get go.

the number one thing that I learned is that I was completly wrong about what I thought about discussion groups.   :)

it has been a  real struggle to transition from a classsroom where EVERYONE is particiapting at once to needing to wait for a students response toa question later at night.  this has been unsettling in many ways, bu ti learn now that it can still be considered constructive and beneficial to the entire classroom

I need to utilize the discussion boards more effectively.  the first class we rolled into from the classroom so students knew eachother and engaged togeher more naurally. the next group have never actually met outside of cyberspace and it is a much less cohesive group.  I want to bring the class together better.

We need synchronous discussion boards.  weneed to be a cohesive classroom.  This is a huge challenge

Most of what was presetnted I was already familiar with but it was reassuringn to know that the blackboard system that I already use is truly configured to the proper standards.

I did catch a few points that i will be revamping in my delivery to the students.  As we rolled out the online ed on my campus my students seemed really confused about what they were truly supposed to do...we had not set classroom hours.  Having a clearer outlook for office hours would really help and discussing tech requirements from teh very beginning is essential.
