In our hvac program student have to get through levels of applied skill that give them the base they will need to have when obtaining their chosen career. One of the first concepts I review with them in orientation is my continued assessment of those skill through various testing. That testing isn't any thing more than another way they and I can assure their skill. For most they start out fearful but soon realize it's benefits when we review their progress.
A key to any sucessfull event is the motivation to continue and do you best. For many reason students have motivational glitches in their quest of learning. Even the strongest of student will need to be lifted up, brushed off and reminded. It is not as easy as it sounds and constantly needed. Career Ed Lounge is embedded in over eighty professional development portals serving the career and technical education community. Performance Groups in the Lounge are integrated with related learning opportunities offered on these portals. With a few exceptions, Performance Groups are also publicly available to any member of the Lounge to maximize peer-to-peer learning and performance outcomes.
