Activity
Keep the students active and engaged. Feed back should be positive and encouraging, not critical if we want the students to be motivated to participate.
I have recently started sharing a fun personal photo such as "What I'm doing during lockdown" and then asking my students to do the same. I give them participation points for completing it and it adds a nice personal touch as well as a little fun to the week.
Personalize your material and make every effort to show interest in getting to know your students even through the distance. Students are more likely to perform at their highest potential when they know you are invested in them.
As an online instructor I can provide my students with a sense of security by being available and responsive.
In order to keep students engaged, I must learn to use a variety of interactive methods for my instruction.
