Jennifer, Fantastic post! As the mother of a twenty-year old son, I do the same. It is amazing how quickly they pick up on new technology! Technology should be used as a useful tool for teaching and learning, you are correct. Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
Tonya, So many students are visual learners and turn to YouTube when learning a new technique or to supplement the in-class lesson. Thanks for sharing! Theresa Schmitt

John, You could approach it that way- essentially assign a moderator each week to post a topic and respond- that would take much of the burden off of you. I do feel the students would benefit greatly if you participate and share your vast knowledge with the group. Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt

Nannette, I absolutely love having the ability to connect with students and industry professionals on Twitter for teaching purposes- I find it enriches the teaching and learning experience. Theresa Schmitt
Elizabeth, I find most careers require at least a basic knowledge of Excel. I imagine advanced knowledge of the app is essential in accounting. Thank you for sharing, and I wish you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
Holly, Great post, thanks for sharing! Yes, I have noticed most Millennials do prefer texting over email. As an instructor, I find I will receive a reply within minutes when sending a text, and it may be hours or days after sending an email. Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
Michelle, Videos are a very popular option. When they are well produced, informative and captivating, students tend to stay focused and recall information when watching a process in a step by step visual format. Theresa Schmitt
Zena, Fantastic! A class discussion board or blog is a great way to promote continued learning outside of the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
Edward, I think it is fantastic you incorporate games and motivational applications into your curriculum! When students realize they may need to learn how to type on a keyboard and not only with their thumbs, they often struggle at first- you have found a fantastic solution! Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
Yingwei, Connecting with students after graduation appears to be the suggested practice at most institutions with a policy on social media. Personally, there are some graduates I prefer not to have in my circle of online contacts. Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
