Rejandra, Do you ever have students that say that they are not motivated to take class, however they enrolled "because it was required"? If so, how do you address these students. Tremayne Simpson

John, Utilizing "outside of class time" for material that is not covered during a session, is also a great time management strategy. Some content can be discussed in an online course forum or activities can be created, that enable the students to learn without a formal topic lecture. Tremayne Simpson
William, It is important that institutions not only "keep up" with technology, in order to provide students with the tools that they will use in the industry. Does your school have a Faculty Council established? If so, upgrading technology should be a primary topic. Tremayne Simpson

Gloria, This sounds like effective methods for collecting student feedback, however a common issue with surveys is the completion-rate consistency. What methods do you/your institution, use to encourage the students to complete the distributed surveys? Tremayne Simpson
Susan, What innovative instructional tools are used in the interim (while you await your technology upgrades) to enhance the learning experience for your students? Also, do you find that the students are "frustrated" due to the lack of available technology at your instituion? Tremayne Simpson
Ricardo, This is a diverse set of instructional methods. Making the instruction "mult-faceted" is a good way to keep the students' attention and to improve retention of information. Also, giving them the opportunity to apply learned concepts, is an effective way to assess their overall comprehension of the topic. Tremayne Simpson
Rudayna, Great methods for integrating technology. Whenever possible, I feel that it is important to make topical lectures interactive. I also project images onto the dry erase board and invite the students to "label" or input information. In my experience, students are always enthused when they are invited to write on the dry erase board. Tremayne Simpson

Kimberly, I agree that organization is an effective tool in establishing credibility with students. In addition, effective organizational methods can "rub off" on students and in my experience, can enhance their approach to the course. Tremayne Simpson

Richard, Great question. I feel that it depends on how the students have interacted with a particular class session. If an instructor has a perception that the students are not fully grasping the concepts of the lecture, it would be a good idea to debrief and provide a summary at the end of the class session, to ensure that they have a basic level of understanding. If the perception is that they understood the concepts, then it would be best to provide the debriefing during the next session, just to assess their retention of the information. Tremayne Simpson
Paula, Indeed, collaboration is very important. Sharing contact with other instructors (that teach similar courses) can ensure that the students are receiving consistent information, regardless of their enrolled section of the course. Also, hearing from other instructor experience can be used to enhance your individual, instructional approach. Tremayne Simpson
