I have to agree that time management is one of the most important things as an instructor. I use a lot of "to do" list and try extremely hard to stay on task. I also feel that my organizational skills help with my time management. I have everything in binders or folders.

memory ways

I teach med terminology and i use crazy flash cards with the word part on it and ways to remember the meaning. An example brady means slow..so I have a snail picture which respresent slow movement..and his name is brady

I teach medical students and I always try to tell them stories about my past experience in the medical field and also try to show them how what they are learning relates to the field of study.

Pygmalion Effect

I am a firm beleiver that you if think you are going to fail then you probably will. Sometimes students just need that instructor to see something positive within them. I never focus on the fsailing grade and the negative impact. I look at the positive things that the student has accomplished and work from a positive end.

Use of games

Many of our books come with web pages that are super fun learning games. Many times i can do them in class, however i have found that students enjoy doing them at home to go back over gthe chapter covered in lecture

colors in classroom

I do agree that color and light do enhance student learning. I use power point but never shut off the lights. if i am in a classroom that has windows I always open the blinds.

Difficult students

I sometimes find those difficult students are looking for attention. Si i have leanred when to provide the attention or when to move on and not bring the center of attention to that person.

ATB Students

Do you really think it is a plus for students who have not completed some sort of high school or GED to attend a tech school. I have found those ATB students struggle and in the medical field that is not a good thing.

I like the social networking, as I find most students use facebook and a great way to locate them.

I think the reps who promote and encourge referrals from students within do a great job..rita's ice, hotdogs cupckaes are a good way to get the students to bring a friend.
