Taking advantage of classroom outing
This is the perfect time to see your student in there own world and know more about there indvidual personality. This makes placement for extern more easier since you have had the opportunity to see the student outside the classroom.

Insights into students interests, desires, preferences , etc. are a good thing. Visiting in a non-classroom envionment, field trip, or off-campus setting can create a great opportunity to get to know students apart from their "student persona".

I had the oppertunity to take my class to the art of the motorcycle, Wow they were totally blown away with all the different bikes and models produced and diplayed. It really made a difference in the way the class progressed in that rotation.
