Class Preparation
How much time do you all average to prepare for a two and four hour block class.

I prepare for my classes on an on going regular basis spending several hours which helps me to deliver subject material to my student in a very clear & comprehensive manner. preparing regularly also helps a great deal in trouble shooting any unpleasant situation and disgruntled student.
I average at least 1 hour before class to prep my class to make sure there is no interuption in class activaty and demonstration.....
our classes run for 3 weeks at a time, before the next class phase i have all of the materials for the entire 3 weeks printed and in the class on the friday before the class begins.

Class preparation varies for me, depending on the topic. Sometimews I'll need more than usual, other times, less time. Periodically, I'll revise a whole section of a course, and I'll spend numerous hours preparing and revising in order to update my material.
Also, I try to add something real current to sprinkle in a class. This makes even the same old material seem a little more up to date.
