power point
how do you add power point to lab classes! I feel like I don't have enough time to add this to my classes.
Hi Branetta:
This sounds like an effective method of using PPT. Contrarily, an ineffective method might be to use PPT all the time, as the sole method of instruction.

Hi Ramona:
New users of PPT as a presentation tool should keep in mind they ought not to "read" the slides to the group - this can become very boring very fast.
Instead, it's better to "expound" on key points.

Hi Tami:
PPT may not always be appropriate for every class environment. If needing them in a lab, you might start with projecting the objectives at the beginning of the lab, then review them at the end of the learning session.

I agree, by doing class presentation with Power Point in a good way of showing them so you have more time with hands on in lab....
After a powerpoint change has been made i always like to have another instructor demo it to me and i demo it to them to make sur there are no errors.
I basically review my material in advance and use powerpoint to cover the main points I want to get across. I notice I have more time in class for questions and review of subject matter.
Powerpoint is a good way to display the objectives and bullet points. Photos can be inserted and used as well. It does not have to be time consuming to produce or add to lecture. An employee from that major copy company we all know will help you produce a quick powerpoint presentation that allows you to just interject the info at certain points during your lecture. So many people today have been so exposed to multi-media that it is difficult to hold their atttention without using some form like powerpoint.
I am a computer lab teacher so I have the luxury of using a computer and smartboard to display a lot of my work, however, I have assisted several "core" teachers within my school building with powerpoint presentations for their students to enjoy during class-time. In one of the science labs the teacher and myself went through a chapter and picked out the main points and designed a powerpoint based on the chapter included pictures and graphs for the students to view and they really enjoyed it. You may want to try this---just a thought.
