I FOUND WATCHING OTHER INSTRUCTORS HAS BEEN A GOOD TOOL .Watching their styles doing massage and then listening to feedback from oter students helps me employ what i need to cover.

I believe one of the best ways to do so is through networking with other instructors---Asking each other, "What works for you?" I think a lot can be expanded on by sitting in on one anothers classes--there are techniques/small nuiances that are not easily defined or written about in text but can be adopted through observation.
I could continue taking continuing education courses directed to adult learning. This in particular is a very large part of my education tools. It is important to be on top of all the most current methods out there in order to constantly stimulate a student's mind. Learners develop in a variety of ways, why not learn a variety of ways to show them what I know!
Taking time to never be satisfied with your self.
Always read and take other class yourself to get stronger at your job. Listen to what your students say. If they have problems with your class,or if they don't. Be open to constructive critasems from other teacher and students.
Observing other educators. Using outside resources to develop additional instructional styles.
As a new instructor, I am always looking for new ways to expand my instructional abilities. I've found that watching other, more experienced instructors as well as having them critique my presentations is an excellent way to learn new instructional techniques. Looking back at past educational experiences I've had, with an eye for what worked and what didn't, is another way I've found.
Most time I will use the internet to answer a question that I may have on certain subjects.
Most of my colleagues have been in the instructional industry for years and usually will come set in a class of mine to help see if I am giving the information to a student on the students level
There are several ways to expand my instructional abilities. I believe the most helpful for me is to observe colleagues in their own classroom. I also intend to take continuing education courses specific for new teachers and hope that I can do this through my professional association. I have also found the instructor manual provided by my institution to be very helpful. Many of our college-wide inservices are based on this manual. We are required to attend 4 inservices per year, each focusing on being a successful instructor.
I try to improve my abilities by always paying attention to other instructors around me. I find it easier to watch and listen the interaction of other instructors and their students and read the body language than to see it in my own interaction with my students.
By picking up the best techniques of the other instructors around me it makes by classroom much more effective.
I find it helpful to get feedback from colleagues in the work environment. They often give me tidbits to use in the classroom and also are often supportive as to my methodologies in the classroom.
By attending seminars and sitting in on other teachers classes to observe their technique.
Working with other instructor and learning from their experience, also taking classes that pertain to the field you are teaching can help to give you a wider range to pull from to be able bring your students in and make them passionate about learning a certain subject.
I agree. By having the students actively participate during class they become more involved in the learning process. Also, they stay awake!
I agree. Having the students actively participate during class keeps them motivated and interested in the topic. It also keeps them awake!
I've found to be current with any changes,
addition, and/or improvements to the subject
contents of the course is definitely important.
Be open to feed-back from my students about my
presentation format. To continue to take additional courses that expand my knowledge of
the classroom subject matter and listen and learn first-hand from my fellow teachers.
It has really helped me by talking with experienced teachers and getting ideas from them.
Of course any help for me,being a new instructor, is a positive.

1 I try to expand is to set in on some of the other instructors courses.
2 In the field I instruct I stay current with what is going on in that field.
3 I try to get materals from some of the teaching seminars that the school will some times have during our breaks.
Hi Donna,
Welcome to teaching. With all of the experience both as a professional and as facilitator you are going to do great as an instructor. You know how to work with people in diverse settings and how to customize your teaching to meet their needs. I wish you the best as you step in the classroom on November 8th.
Gary
Actually this position I am starting November 8, 2010 is my first role as an instructor. I should say as a nursing instructor this will be my first class, but I have facilitated many orientations of new hire nursing staff. I would imagine that it is not too much different than teaching. I have already attended many lectures from instructors that I wish to follow their techniques, also I have taken many graduate classes related to education and curriculum development. I have a start, but as with anything one wants to become proficient at continuing education is a must.
