I constantly encouarge my students to come to tutoring or study sessions. I even talk about how I attended some study sessions myself during college. I say this to encourage them to participate and take advantage of the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the subject.

Good ideas about how to show the students that we all have been students ourselves and yes, we have had our struggles with learning our content. This helps to show students that they are not the first individuals to have to work to acquire knowledge and skills.

A Good way to connect with the students is to share experiences that show the student that it is okay to ask for help as for as tutoring. Share your own success story in a subject that was challenging for you, and encourage that you have to slow down and take one step at time with a written checklist of challenges and check them off.
