As a active college student right now who is also teaching at the same time I am given a very interesting perspective to teach from. I find myself critically observing my own instructors and taking note of want to do and more importantly what not to do.

I agree! You have to be able to adapt! Not all students are the same. There will always be some type of "tweaking" that needs to be done, both for you and the students. Resources from the school help out a lot! Monthly meetings, webinars and attending seminars as a staff are very helpful. Asking and taking advice from other instructors is a big tool for improving your style

I believe your instructional style is developed as one gains more experience in the classroom setting.
Over the years, good presentation, followed by questions, and critical thinking scenarios work best for me.
I believe , the more technology you can incorporate in the classroom, will keep students focussed and interested.

Michael,
Your style will come with experience and professional development. As you present your content using the strength of your personality you see what works and what you need to change. This is how style is developed.

I currently have no style. I'm new to the teaching experience. I hope to be able to use discussion and experience to convey my message.

Jeffrey,
Good plan. You have hit upon all of the critical components in instructional planning and delivery. You are ready to move forward with your effort to help your students move toward their career goals.

My approach (being a new instructor) will be to:
-observe classroom instruction of an experienced instructor
-preparation of course instruction before class
-establish instructor/student relationship early on
-relate real world scenerios where applicable to content
-analyze results from initial classroom instruction and adjust delivery accordingly
-build confidence in teaching as time progresses

I enjoy these learning modules, they give me a foundation to build a lesson plan. Thanks :)

I'll be teaching for the first time. Therefore, I'm not sure about my teaching style yet. I used to tutor college math long time ago, so I tried many different ways to help the students understand what they can't understand in the classroom.

Instructional Style,
One of the best way to improve on your instructional style is to take a course on it. This course provided me with some way of approaching students and an outlook on how to grow as an instructor.

I agree with how beneficial it is to have the institutional place you work out provide us with online learning courses and training sites.

Lorraine,
Student centered teaching is what we should all be about. You have the right idea and your instructional planning reflects how you are going to focus your attention and delivery.

I always try to make my instructional style student-focused. It's not about me, but about connecting with who my students are. This can be difficult when I have a wide diversity of students, but every one has something that I can make a connection to.

Brenda,
This is like an instructional style "buffet". You have such diverse experiences in your background so you can chose many different role models and examples from which to develop our own style. Keep up the good work and I wish you much success as an educator.

I take into consideration all my previous training in the workplace, of which their are many, and along with my previous instructors examples, and my own positived experiences as an adult learner, I am given insights into how others become interested and stimulated students. I love to take courses like this one too!

I can take professional development activities such as this online class to help develop my instructional style.
