Show & Tell
Have many tools to help you get the topic and goals accomplished
I agree. The use of show and tell allows the students to see tangible items that are being used in a system.Since there is a broad range of visual aids it lets the beginers the ability to grasp the concept of the aids implementation. In essence, description of aids function with showing leads to better understanding.
i believe that there are three learning styles, site, sound, and kinestetic. if you cover all three of these basic styles then the students have no choice but to pick up some sort of information
I like to show and tell good results and bad results using visual aids: results when done correctly and results when done incorrectly. In class, we even puposely create bad results for the students to help them understand the importance of learning it correctly.
We all know that there are many learning styles. Visual, auditory, etc, But the most effective method is to use a combination of all learning styles because each will reinforce the other. If a student can put his or her hands on as well as hear about it and see it this will usually cover all learning styles.
I agree show and tell is a great teaching tool. One year I had a student that was hearing impaired, so I had to incorporate differant teaching styles. Show and Tell was one that realy helped the student better understand difficult subjects.
Show and tell is a viable step in learning. Many students learn through actually seeing what you are talking about. This gives them that visual that creates an "aha" moment.
not only should we use show and tell, we should have students perform the lab before they get the lecture. This means more work for the instructor in the lab explaination but the questions you get during the lecture and the understanding of the material is truly remarkable.
