Much like going to see new movie, the trailer & preview must be overviewed to set the expectations & curiosity. This is why having an inviting learning environment so important to learning.

The learning environment sets the tone for how the students are going perceive how we as the instructors and the course we teach. Everything is part of teaching environment from students, classroom to the laboratory. Our teaching environment plays an important part in the delivery of instructional materials & expectations for both.

Hi, all,

It is true that learning environment includes classroom atmosphere, teaching and learning materials etc. However, another specific item is the capabilities of students i.e. if "all" the students have completed sufficient pre-requisites or not becuase sometimes, few students don't come with necessary background information, which impacts the overall course progress.

Thank you!!

The learning environment is a catalyst that can make or break a course. If the environment is well maintained, organized and has the right atmosphere it can stimulate learning. If not, it can deter from effective learning.

Hi Colin,
Good point about how important the learning environment is to student success. If it is well designed and laid out then it often becomes unnoticed by the students even though it is critical to their success. On the other hand if it isn't supportive then the instructor has a big challenge of trying to overcome the issues related to the environment.

A POSITIVE ATMOSPHERE,PROPS,LIGHTING,TEMPERATURE ARE ALL RELATIVE TO THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT IN MY OPINION.

it helps in preparing students for a seamless transition from classroom to the professional world.

it should be able to provide students all the necessary resources in order to achieve the goals asked of them.

how the room is set up,neatly, not cluttered, lighting, temperature, props, all affect the learner.

The learning environment should be comfortable and conducive to student learning. The room should not be too cold or too hot, and with good lighting.

The learning enviroment plays a big role in the students ability to stay focused and engaged with the instructor. We as instructors have the responsibility of creating a positive learning environment.

One part of the learning environment includes the physical aspects of the classroom. As an instructor, I need to ensure that all students can see and hear as well as participate in the instructional activities. In addition, the learning environment includes the emotional setting that has been established. As in instructor, I need to make sure that students feel respected and valued. If the physical or emotional aspect of the learning environmnent is not comfortable, the student's ability to learn will be impeded.

Factors such as room temperature have an effect on the learning enviroment. A comfortable room temperature is condusive to a comfortable learning enviroment.

It plays a good impact on the absorption of the knowledge that we as instructors convey to our students.

Hi Mario,
You are doing a great service to and for your students by offering them the chance to develop their skills in a simulated setting. This will help them to see the big picture of the career they are preparing to enter.

The learning environment should be comfortable that is room tempature should not be to hot or to cold. The room must also be insulated from noise asit is distracting to students. Equipment in throom should be in good working orde this saves time for the instructor to consintrate on the course material.

The environment can be the difference between a student feeling competent and confident. The environment can be intimidating and overwhelming, or supportive and encouraging.

Everytime I start a module, I tell the class that we will be doing role-play and pretend that we are in an actual doctor's office. I am the manager and they are the staff. I ask them if they were in an office how will they handle the situation not only coding situations but also learning to work with different groups of people and work as a team. It helps them work on a more professional basis and realize that they cannot be "choosy" who they work with and also make them realize that it might even be an advantage for them because they will be able to do brainstorming and get the best results.

I agree the student, should get the feel and idea of what to expect in the real world. It makes it alot easier, for the student to adapt.

comfort, focus and organization.

The learning environment plays an important role in the instructional process because the classroom is where the stage is set for learning. There are many factors that make up the environment from what is available for the instructor to use as an aid for learning such as technology like smartboards and projectors. Other factors that shape the environment is the noise level, professionalism of the instructor, boundaries set within the classroom and the tone. When considerations are taken to provide the best environment as possible distractions are limited and chances that students will learn increase.

Students are giving excellent clinical experience except in certain courses. Student's must have hands on experience in that course to get the concept of what they will be encountering. You can read the text but it is more realistic to experience it in a clinical site. The learning environment play an important role in the instructional process. The saving grace is that the instructors are very knowledgeable and provide learning materials such as video's,and power points .
