As you plan early you will not be unprepare you just need to review and present your class you are not rushing when you are ready to instruct you are prepared

Hi George,
Right you are. It is our duty as professionals to be prepared, to do less is to cheat our students and our career area.
Gary

Hi Stevven,
Good point and one that we instructors need to keep in the front of our minds. This way we can engage our students by offering instruction in their learning preference areas.
Gary

The students can tell when an instructor isn't prepared. It's important in our teaching environment of adults that the students see us as professional and prepared. If you do not prepare for class it will be very difficult to successfully teach these adult students as they will loose interest feeling you don't know your field.

Yes I think that proper preparation will be very efficient. I think my classes would run much smoother and maybe it might seem like I am doing too much; but in fact I am reducing problems and the students will retain more. The effectiveness of proper preparation will also be beneficial for the student's learning process because it will allow more time to help with the learning styles of different students therefore I am effecting more people in a positive way.

I find that when I plan and prepare for the course that I'm instructing, I am better equipt to teach and answer questions appropriate. I also find that I have far more quality content and better examples to share in order for students to be able to relate to the material.

Early and comprehesive planning allows the instructor to cover all the necessary topics put forth in the curreculum as well as additional information that might be relevent to the subject matter. Learning is done in a systematic manner therefore comprehensive planning allows the teaching process to be handled in a progressive and stucture manner which is easier and more benificial to the learning process.

Hi Edith,
I agree with you about the need for a checklist so you make sure to cover what you want and need to for that class session. We are there to instruct our students and we can only do that if we are prepared and ready to go.
Gary

Your time in front of the students is extremely valuable. You must be PREPARED in order to fully utilize the time and provide the students what is required, expected, and necessary for them to successfully complete the course. It is not just the student passing the course but the knowledge they attain and their ability to apply it in the future that is critical. There is no "winging it" when you are in front of the students. To me a CHECKLIST is very useful so that I don't forget something that I think is key to the day's lesson.

Hi Don,
Good preparation sends a positive message to students and sets the stage for learning success. This is what a professional educator should do each time the class meets if they are going to earn the respect of their students.
Gary

You have to be prepared going to the class. In order to be prepared you must start preparing early. This includes reviewing the material, developing the syllabus, reviewing the class roster, and being in class early to greet students. When students see that the instructor in prepared for class then they will realize the importantance of the class and follow the instructor example.

Hi Jay,
Good points. When you don't plan you end up coming to the football game wearing scuba gear because you weren't sure what the sport was. I have seen many instructors come to classes with the same level of preparation. Teaching is tough enough, and with little or no preparation I can't imagine what it would be like. Talk about stress!
Gary

Hi Taljmattie,
Thank you for sharing this comprehensive plan for instructional delivery. This is the kind of planning that is essential for teaching success. The more time spent preparing translates into more time to enjoy teaching and working with students.
Gary

Without a plan, plan on having a less than satisfactory result. You can't have a football game unless you have a play book and syllibi, course outlines, oblectives etc are our playbook. Plan for success and you will be successful. PLna early and plan well! Have a great day all.
Jay

Early and comprehensive planning enables the instructor to have a formatted, well thought out guideline for teaching the class. This also helps the instructor stay on track during lectures so that keys points are noted. A preliminary layout showing all the elements planned helps students understand and prepare better for lessons.

Hi John,
Good preparation facilitates instructional improvement because of just what you said. There is some breathing room for planning and expansion of instructional ideas.
Gary

Hi Steven,
Excellent set of points that reflect on the necessity of proper preparation. With these items in place instruction is going to be efficient and effective.
Gary

Hi Esther,
So true. You can have fun with your strategies if you are confident in your preparation.
Gary

Hi Marie,
This is a key point. This gives you some breathing room to try different strategies or assignments and that makes teaching a lot of fun because you get to be creative.
Gary

Hi Mike,
Good point. It helps to set them at ease because they know what the expectations are.
