assessing students learning styles
what method has been proven as extremely effective prior to the commencement of formal instruction to assess student body learning styles?
Hi Jennie, Hmm - it has been a while since I used all those links so thanks for the "Heads up". I am glad thyat the first one worked for you! Have a great week-end!

Thank you so much for the surveys. The first link went just perfect; they give the "actual type of learner you are"; The second link you sent me, we needed to pay to get the results. The third link , did not give you the type of learner you are. This link give you results so that we have to read the results, but it does not say it; so basically, we need to analyze the results.
So, in summary, I love the only link that comes up with the words: "you are a combo of the following learning styles: You are Auditory, You are Visual, You are kinesthetic"
I do deeply appreciate your help by providing me the links. Have a wonderful Day,
Jennie

Dear Mrs Susan: I am so thankful for your help giving me the surveys we need to do to our students. I am going to try them today for first time.I think this is a very good way to reach our students in full.
I am so happy I could count on you for this.
Hi Jennie, Thanks for your post to the forum. Good question! Yes, students can certainly learn in various styles but there is usually a style in which they learn the best. Here are two learning styles inventories that you can try

Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
I am also very interested to know and apply a survey related to assess student body learning styles?
Can you send me link or guide me where I can find more specific information about how to asses student's learning styles?
I have not read so far, if 1 student can have most likely 1 or 2 learning styles? I would like to know about the percentage. Can anybody please guide me about it?
I feel that all of them are a good idea. at least two of them should be done for the class just to make sure that the class as a hole can get the concept.
I do the same in the first day of class. I use alot of lecture, with power points as well as assigning reading pages before class in which I challege them by asking questions on the reading material placing the answers on the smart board. At the end of each class I break the class down in two groups; never the same mix and ask questions with acknowledgement of the team that wins. I do take at least one field trip to a business where they may work after they get their degree or have a guest speaker from their career field.
I always explain the different styles and ask my studets at the beginning of the term about theire preferred style.
In a history of design class, I have several activities that help to identify learning styles. We have some lecturing and written questions. A game where we draw on the blackboard. A picture identification game.
