Different teaching styles for diverse population

Be sure to not only assess your students learning styles but be sure you use enough variety in your instruction as possible. Use feed back to determine if you have achieved your teaching goals, do not be timid to change your instruction method if your initial attempt has not been successful.

I beleive there is not set format on how I teach a class the subject matter may be the same but the methods and styles are always changing to insure student learning is maximized.

I do agree the smaller the class is, It seems I do change my teaching style according to their speed and need.

Hi Petya, Thanks for your post to the forum. I like the idea of organizing groups according to learning styles when you have a larger class. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan

I have to change my teaching style often. It depends on the numbers of the students enrolled in one class. If it is a small class - up to 3 students the assesment is easier and I can adjust pretty soon, but if it is a large class of about 10-15 students it takes me a while to undestand the students' styles. I usually divide them in groups according to their learning styles.

I have to agree with you guys!! It wasn't until I gained complete understanding of my student population. Meaning what motivates and how to encourage those with poor study habits! I hsd to revamp my whole style!!

Hi Francis, Thanks for your post to the forum. Yes, we do need to be willing to change our instruction based on the feedback that we receive! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
