Returning Adult Students
Is there any strategy to help & support adults that are returning to school after years of no studying?
Hi Traci, Thanks for your post to the forum. I was also a returning adult students many years ago. Having been successful as a student in high school I thought I had good study skills - was very wrong! I have had adult students complain that they should not have to take Orientation classes, but often they are the ones who need them the most. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

Hi Angie,
I teach students of all ages and I find that the students that have not been in school in quite some time are the ones that struggle. I returned to school after being out 10 years and remember my struggle. That being said, it is easier for me to help them with their studying needs.
I was also an adult learner. It is interesting to see the differences in learning strategies for different ages.
Awesome!!! can you share the course title, or a link to the information?
I am in the same situation & want to find proper guidance for my future students that may undergo the same situation.
Hi Angie, Thanks for your post to the forum. I returned to school in my thirties and remember how difficult it was to re-learn study skills. We have acquired course for all new students that covers those skills. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.
