Do you have students who just try to answer questions to gather participation points rather than trying to understand the material further? If so, how do you handle it?
I agree with you, I want my students to ask as my questions as possible that's also how I learned
When I feel as though this is what my students are doing, I will continue to ask them questions, to further assess their comprehension.
I always encourage my students to ask "1000 questions a day" because thats how i learned the trade i am involved in.

We ask questions to continue the text by taking it a step further. Our school does not use participation points.
