Questioning sessions can be used as learning tools because it is meaningful information being covered, in which allows the learning process to take place through the question-and-answer strategy. It allows for a better understanding, and also displays what an individual knows, in which could be helpful in the learning process of another individual.
Hi Judy - Thanks for your post to the forum. Yes, questioning is one of the best ways to get feedback from our students. We need to know how well we are doing with our students. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
I feel that asking guestions keeps the class focused. Participation is so important--it helps to find out, if someone may need just a little extra help. I also think it's important for an instructor to be motivated about teaching--this will motivate the students to start asking questions.
Questioning sessions can be used as learning tools in many different ways. Sometimes students have the same questions, but some are afraid to ask. Encouraginig students to ask questions helps everyone to understand. I have an "ask it basket" that I use in class and students love it. I have each student leave a question or comment in the basket on their way out of class and then we have a Q and A session at the beginning of the next class to go over those questions and any others that they have for that day.
Questions force students into thought, thought process forces students into learning. Strengthen this learning process by asking all students to write the correct answer down after it has been identified and discussed. I see this as an avenue to taking notes as well.

To see how offers viewed the material and how we can grow together.
Questioning ia tool that creates two way communication channel between the instructor and the student which enhance understanding between the instructor and the student.
Question sessions allow for open discussion, as well as determining if the content expected to be learned was accomplished. This allows the instructer to see when review or reinstruction might be necessary. Knowing the levevl of mastery in the classroom guides the follow up content.
Hi Tina- Thanks for your post to the forum. Whatever we can use to get better participation is great! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Questioning sessions can be used as learning tools by asking the "what if" question in response to an answer that may be incorrect. That way, more students are involved in the learning process. I also encourage the students to ask the "what if" questions.
questions related to application of topics in daily life will encourage students to pay attention and create interest in the topic.
ask questions how the fact stated can be used effectively in ceartain adpect of daily life activity.
ask what are the various application of the fact, they can think of to be used in daily life.
how can the fact be used in life in ways not known to encourage creativity in students
by repharsing the questions to derive answers close which is close to daily life experiences. this makes the students relate to the qusestions and come up with creative answers
Questioning sessions give the instructor and the student feedback. The student responses help us confirm that what we teach is getting through with comprehension. My students tend to want to memorize things. I question them to make sure that they understand. This often leads to very lively discussions, making class time fun.
They help the students retain the imformation.
Questions generate dialogue and discussion, which fosters a better understanding of the material.
Questioning sessions are excellent learning tools. Questioning sessions help the instructor to get a handle on how much of the material is being understood by the class as well as how well they are able to process the information. With questions any unclear areas can be addressed. In my experience, there will be several people in the class with the same question and only one person "brave" enough to ask the question.
Hi Sandra - thanks for your post to the forum. Yes,I find that students are ofen relieved to find that other students had the same questions. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Questioning sessions allow students to learn from other students questions and answers.
I beileve that questioning sessions are learning tools because someone may ask a question that a student was thinking but to scared to ask and it also dig into what the student got out of the topic which will express if they understand whats going on or not.
