Music in class

Music is the most important stimulant for the brain and is not used enough in the class room.

You have to be very Careful using music. The younger students like the heavy Rap which is distracting. If you play quiet tones they fall asleep.

Greetings Kelly!

I truly believe that music can be a great addition to a classroom, however, I don't think it works for every venue, situation or groups of students.

keep up the good work!

I have really not used music in the classroom in these ways, but now that I now how important it is, I will definitely use it. It is great to learn how music can be used in such positive ways. I intend to do even more research on this to employ it in the best ways possible.

Hi Bradley!

If you haven't taken the time to read the info on types of music and BPM best for classroom use, I would encourage you to do so. It makes several good points as well as provides resources for types of music and purchase info. Something that I had not really thought about is copyright infringement. Very interesting reading.

Keep up the good work!

Music in a classroom , could work but only during a lab time. During a lecture or presentation I do not beleive music is the best idea, because the students will start getting relaxed and fousing on the music instead of the lecture you our giving.

true music can be benifical to the learning process. but not until this module did i realize that the type and style of music can have a positive or negative effect on the learning process.I have been observing the students and noticed how the music affects them and threr learning process.

That's a bit of a broad statement. What is most important for one individual may not be the same for someone else. I think you need to tailor what you are doing in the classroom to as many students as possible. If music is working..great, if not, tone it down a bit.
