Flaoting Around the classroom

I prefer floating around the classroom as I lecture. I believe the students feel more involved in a discussion rather than just listening to a lecture. It also helps keep the students attention.

I think this is revelant with my face to face interactions with large or small groups. It allows ths instructor to get closer with those students that are sitting farther away.

Floating around the classroom also allows you to get up close and personal with the students and make sure that everyone is on task while we are lecturing. For example; students who use laptops, we can see if they are actually taking notes or on Facebook, monitoring crops on farmville.

Very, very true. The students are more involved and it even gets the "shy" students participating ... they cannot hide. When floating, you are not singling out the "shy" student, you are encouraging their self confidence.
