I like the idea; although, I must admit it makes me uncomfortable to watch myself - much like listening to myself.

I still think that a self-restropective during your drive home is a great way of determining how well you interacted and you were received.

James,
thanks for relating your experience. I have found that when I video myself I become more aware "live" of those repetitive phrases or odd ways of pronouncing words.

Dr. Ryan Meers

I agreee totally. Listening to my voice sounds different to me, and that bothers me the most. The video just allows me to critique my movements and gestures. Years ago, I recorded myself during a lecture explaining the benifits of recording. I did many things to create examples but the one thing I did accidently was use the phrase, "does that make sence?" over and over... Boy did that irritate me. Since then, I try to listen to myself more carefully, and try to avoid distractions. Sometimes I hear lecture from training or meetings that pose a very difficult challenge to concentrate on the subject matter. For example, I attended a benifits meeting recently, and the presenter had a unique way of pronouncing the word questions. It was pronounced like this: "Kest eons" I literally spent the entire meeting awestruck at the way she said that word. I truly have no clue what the details of the meeting were and was to dumbfounded to ask any Kest-eons after the lecture. A video of her presentation, would be a helpful tool. Now I'm even more careful.
