Strategies for success
I do appreciate the success strategies suggested in this course to help deal with students with English as the learning language. And also the point that many of these success strategies can even help with students outside this group.
It helps the students and instructor learn together as to what level the student succeeds at.
I like to have students with language issues pair up with a senior student who can help them out at a slower pace than I can do in class.
I give positive reinforcement every day!!! As they leave the classroom- I will tell them good job today- you did a great job today...
study groups definitly help pairing up a student whos first language is english as a study partner is working in my classes they meet before class and review . ofen the english speaking student understand s the concept better after explaining it to the esl student
Hi Alphia!
It is soooooooooooo important to encourage and give positive feedback to our students. We are the facilitators of learning and or building positive self image.
Good job!

Extra steps can simply be providing feedback both positive and negative to your students, they need to know how they are progressing in class, your feedback however should be generously positive, with ideas on improvement.Be careful not to sound discouraging.
It's amazing how just taken that extra step could have a huge impact on the whole learning process.
Perhapsgrouping these students with monitoring these students will validate them and accelerate their learning.
its helped me to see how difficult it is for the latino students or any group thats still trying to comprehend englise and the ones that are struggling as they are learning english on the fly so to speak, i now have a different perspective on this subject.
If you take time with a student and figure want he is lacking it give you an opportunity to help them achieve goals
