If they can relate the material to somthing they have already experienced they will likely understand and retain the information
Absolutely Frank! End of class review on a daily basis is very valuable to students. I typically try to find creative ways for students to provide me with feedback. You could even use their cell phone text messaging for a review.
Good work!

Can help students to overcome objectives
Sharing life experiences with the students help motivate them. The students get a feel of what to expect out there in the real world. Nothing will catch them by surprise, they will be well prepared for whatever comes their way.
By using their life experiences it makes the learning material more realistic. It also helps them to focus on their goals and what they expect to learn in the class room.
I agree, i'm human and I do make mistakes it's how you bounce back from those mistakes and what you learn from it.
WHEN THEY SHARE THEIR LIFE EXPERIENCES IN THE CLASS ROOM IT HELPS THEM TO FILL THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE CLASS, AND THE LESSON BEING TAUGHT
AND IT ALSO HELPS OTHER STUDENTS SHARE THEIR LIFE EXPERIENCES THEN WE FIND WE ALL HAVE A COMMON BOND TEACHER AND STUDENTS.
It is important for adult learners to be able to use their life experiences in the classroom because this allows them to share with students of diverse backgrounds, educations, work experience.
The self-worth of the individuals is an area of concentration. They do not feel any less qualified because of age, obstacles, or work histories.
The best thing I ever did for my teaching was to take the Dale Carnegie Course, which teaches you (among many other things) to tell stories effectively, and make a point at the end.
I find that when I give my studnet time to talk about how they have applied their knowladge about a subject, they retain more of the days material.
Hi Aaron!
Experience is the best teacher and when we are able to share those experience learning takes place. Often when share experiences, it helps us to realize that we aren't the only one having like expereinces.
Good job!

Students can relate their own experiences and realize they can accoplish things. They might gain a connection with the instructor and be more motivated to pay attention.
I feel that using life experiences in the classroom can show other students different perspectives and may adjust things in their own lives for the better.
Good point as well. Even adult learners can have a negative perception of an instructor based on rumor or speculation. Those who are strict in their classroom can be viewed as someone you cannot approach. Some of my strictest instructors have become some of my closest friends when I was obtaining my Associates Degree.
I let students talk so they feel like they have a voice or a say in the classroom. Making people feel important and giving them the stage for 5 minutes can reduce stress and build confidence between that student, other students and the instructor in the class. Not all of the learning or education has to be done inside the classroom and that's where adult learners and experiences of others comes into play.
I worked in the american auto industry as a design for 15 years... I think this kind of experience is very helpful for me as an instructor and the students... I am able to share real-life experience with the students... The biggest life-lesson is turning in projects on-time...
I would agree 100%, students become very frustrated with instructors that have no personal knowledge...they tend to lose respect quickly.
Using life experiences in the classroom help adults prepare for the learning experience by understanding some of the experiences they have already addressed. It help them to review some of the experiences and learning they are having in class and solutions.
Students relate to you more in that way. When you tell them your failures, or flaws that have happened to you in your personal achievements, it helps them see you as a regular person instead of someone that needs to placed on a platform.
Using life experiences gives the instructor a chance to present real world application to the learning. It also shows the adult learner the relevance and importance for learning. Adults tend to learn more from one another and it adds an additional instructional element to the class.
