Great Bridget!
I only speculate that sharing personal experiences from a hospital setting is very useful to those students who are going into the medical field. In this environment, success depends on both academic success, a passion for the work, and experience.
Keep up the good work!

Life experiences allows the students to relate their experiences to their education. It help them to understand what is being taught and they have an understanding.
It allows the students to feel a sense of accomplishment. Adults are often relunctant to attend college because they feel they may be looked down upon. If they are allowed to share thier life experiences they feel that they have something to contribute in the classroom.
I am constantly talking about my experiences in the hospitals, and the Do's and the Dont's of patient care settings. When you take practical applications and add it to the learning environment, it helps the students to be more prepared and motivated.
I was amazed the first time I had an instrutor tell me that she learned from me! What a boost to my self-esteem and self confidence. We need to remember that we do not know everything. I tell my students all of the time that I do not know everything. I welcome imput from my students. Some of my students have already worked in their field of study and have great experiences to share. Showing students real world application of topic helps them understand and remember the topic.
Is important to use life experiences in the classroom because it provides critical content for students, remember that the development of language and knowledge is based on input from the experiences of mankind for centuries, that is the same as we in class when we use the experiences of life, we bring to students a practical knowledge that will serve to better understand and learn more about the topic that we are dealing, in addition to allow the class becomes more dynamic
Using life experiences in the classroom allows adult learners to relate what they are learning to what they already know, which helps to fuel their individual motivation to succeed in the course.
Using their life experiences helps student associate what they are learning to what they know. It will give them a sense of accomplishment because they can see they have some understanding of the concepts being presented. Often students will make a topic more difficult than it is. By getting them to think about how their own experiences relates to the topic, they can see the concept isn't so difficult and learn more easily.
Everyone's life experiences weave into the fabric that becomes your class culture. The more diverse the experiences, the more interesting the class.
Hi Daisy!
The fact of the matter is that we can all learn from each other. It's a great opportunity to get a dose of the real world from a wide variety of people.
Good work!

Sharing life experiences in the classroom helps the student build confidence in themselves. It gets them excited about their new career.
I think it is important to use life experiences in the class room because it makes the course content more relatable for te student with the experience and the student that does not have life experiences in that area.
I think it's important beacuse it will help the individual with thier learning process and maybe it will make them feel more comfortable in a learning enviornment if they were out of school for a while.. Also I think younger students who have little or no life experience can benefit from what other adult learners has experienced in the past.
Students that use their life experiences in the classroom will usually stay motivated; sometimes they can even motivate others. I encourage my students to share their experiences on the topics that I am teaching that day.
Hi Jeffrey!
What makes you think that students do not have life experiences to share, particularly those students who are in career colleges? So many of those students are non-traditional, they should have numerous stories.
Good job!

Because they can relate what they have experienced in life to what is being taught in the class. That connection allows for learning to take place. It's taking the old with the new.
I believe sharing our life experiences will give the students motivation to strive to do their best. If they know that their hard work will pay off with a rewarding career by witnessing someone that has gone through the program and has succeeded, then I think that life experiences are priceless.
I often share with my students different situations I was in during my professional career, and I 've always noticed that my students get a lot more focused on the topic presented during my lectures and they're willing to comment on my life experiences in the field. My students love hearing those life experiences in the field.
Hi Sofhia!
