using life experiences
Learners have various learning styles specially with diverse population of students. Considering this fact, using life experiences can enhance memory retention and better understanding of the concept beign discussed for the reason that instructors are using a combination of abstarct and visual approach of reinforcing knowledge. Using life experiences also deliver significant impact specially to adult learners since most of them correlate the importance of what they are doing to what they want to achieve.
I agree !! Some of our students come into class everyday with so much 'personal weight' on the shoulders that they can barely make it through the day. When an instructor shares their 'life experience' of trials they encountered as a student lets the student know that others may have faced similar challenges and still strived for success. We as instructors should encourage our students to be successful for themselves and their families.
Working in the field for over ten years gives me a lot of mistakes and successes to talk about. I also enjoy teaching in the evening while maintaining my day job because I can come in and say even after doing this for over a decade I learn on the job every day. I want them to understand that graduation is not the end of the learning and growing process.
It is very important to use life experiences to help motivate a student. The student may be the first one in the family to get an education beyond high school. Many students are single mothers who are working and attending classes. Students know that when they graduate it will be a great success for their family.
Life experiences is a significant impact and a great tool for the students.I will try to help them to ovoid some mistakes.

Life experience is a great tool. When you use life experience the student seem to listen to it like a story and most of the time its about thing that you have done right or wrong so that the student do not make the same mistakes in the work field.
Everyone can relate to have some what of a simaler experiences.
At times, sharing life experiences relates the fact that all students have something in common. It can lead to peer mentoring and certainly leads to professional networking.
