Other engagements students might complete outside the classroom could include the standard textbook readings, locating a journal or other article related to a key concepts to share with the class, watching videos, and note taking with analysis of a live broadcast. When possible I may try to combine a couple of different activities within the same week, especially given that pre-recorded lectures are aimed at being short and succinct.

Observe the skill in progress in real time( in clinical). Read articles about the subject you are teaching in technical journals to show how it benefited the job they are training for.
Design models or flow charts to explain how the subject you are learning works.
