individual devolopment plans
All humans are students at there core. Our first job as teachers is to awaken parts the students brain. Our second job is to build a direct path to the learning center of the student. Our third job is to send information through the path that the student will retain.
Hi Wendy,
You are right about the stories. The students like them and as a result you have their attention. In addition, the stories show how you have been successful in the field and are bringing that success to the classroom in the form of experience. They can benefit from your experience as they prepare to enter the field by seeing how your stories reflect the work world.

It is true that we need to entice the student to want to learn. Although adult learners are self motivated, the youthful student may need a little mroe excitement. They are inumdated with outer, extravagant enticements and we need to keep their attention. Life experience is our big hook for them for they respond to crazy situational stories. They listen intently and are intrigued by the instructor; therefore they are intent to pay attention.
